Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S is widely expected to feature the same external design as its predecessor, just as previous “S” upgrades have in the past. But looks can be deceiving. While Apple’s flagship iPhone for 2013 may appear to be the same as the iPhone 5 on the outside, the phone will feature a significant internal redesign when it launches this fall. BGR has exclusively obtained high-resolution photos of a number of components that will be included in Apple’s iPhone 5S, and they help paint a picture of things to come later this year.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5S is expected to launch this fall alongside iOS7, which will reportedly feature a substantial interface overhaul that does away with most textures in favor of flatter design elements.

Microsoft Office debuts on iPhone

Microsoft made Office available on iPhones for people who pay to use the popular productivity software as a service in the Internet cloud.

A free Office Mobile application for iPhones hit the shelves of Apple's App Store but can only be used with subscriptions to Office 365 Home Premium or Office 365 ProPlus.

Documents or other files created using Office programs can be saved at Microsoft's online SkyDrive.

"The iPhone app enables great Office content viewing and on-the-go content editing capabilities," Julia White, general manager of Microsoft's Office division, said in a blog post.

After signing in to an Office 365 account, you can access, view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents from anywhere.

Microsoft in January began letting people subscribe to Office as a service in the Internet cloud, shedding the need to buy the popular productivity software on a disk.

It's kind of a reflection of how most of us live nowadays," company official Oliver Roll said at the time. "The same way you get instant access to movies or music at Netflix or Spotify, you access your documents in the cloud.

Microsoft earlier launched a version of Office 365 for businesses.The Office suite includes Word, Excel, and OneNote.

The Redmond, Washington-based software giant's competition includes a suite of online applications hosted by Internet powerhouse Google. Microsoft is also keen to stay in tune with the lifestyle shift to smartphones and tablets despite failing to score hits with mobile devices powered by its Windows software.

Rumor: iPhone 5S Use Fingerprint Sensor

Rumors about the iPhone version iPhone 5S or call re-circulated. This time, the latest iPhone is rumored to be using fingerprint recognition sensor will be placed on the Home button.

The latest rumor comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities.

Quoted from Ubergizmo, Friday (18/01/2013), the purpose of the application of this feature is quite simple, namely to increase the security of various applications on the iOS, such as Passbook.

For the record, Passbook is a feature found on your iPhone with iOS 6. This feature allows the user to gain access in one place, such as a boarding pass, rewards cards, movie tickets, and other things that can be done with a mobile barcode.

Sensor fingerprint recognition is likely to be held for the authentication process so that not just the use of existing applications.

In addition, the fingerprint sensor is likely to be used by consumers to unlock iPhone screen phones.

Kuo also predicts that the iPhone 5S will be launched in 2013.

Kuo himself is quite well known for some time to provide precise predictions related to new Apple products.

He had guessed right, Apple will stop production of 17-inch MacBook Pro.

In addition, he also became the first to report that Apple will use the technology in the new cell-to make the latest iPhone thinner.

On the other hand, in case Apple pursues any of its latest patent filings, we perhaps can see iPhone 5S or even iPhone 6 featuring superior sensors and haptics, probably built directly into a supple display.

Before the release of the iPhone 5, a Chinese manufacturer GooPhoone presented its GooPhone i5, which incorporated the appearance of the Apple device. Will a colorful iPhone 5S arrive in June?

Apple's 2012 releases have come and gone. The company won't likely announce anything new for months. Analysts and Apple fans have to stay entertained somehow, however, and one of their favorite hobbies is spinning the old rumor mill. If the latest bold prediction holds any weight, you may spend next June staring at your gorgeous blue iPhone 5S.

The soothsaying comes from Jefferies analyst Peter Misek. He thinks Apple will release the iPhone 5's sequel quicker than expected. The alleged features? A "super HD" camera and screen, better battery life, and NFC (near field communication). He also lists "possible" updates as an IGZO display, a 128 GB storage option, and a variety of colors.

Does it hold water?



We wouldn't put a lot of weight in this. Investment analysts occasionally have inside information (supply chain sources, etc.), but their predictions are more often pure speculation. This sounds more like the latter, but there are reasons to give it a second glance.

Something is shifting in Apple's release schedules. Most of its product line was updated in the last few months, so it could be shifting to twice-a-year release schedules. This also isn't the first time we've heard of a new iPhone in the first half of 2013.

Red flags



The biggest red flag is the remark about the "super HD" display. The iPhone 5's display is already one of the best. If Apple upped the resolution, it would likely be in an even multiple (for software simplicity). Doubling it to 2272 x 1280 would be overkill. It wouldn't add much to the user experience, and it would kill battery life.

Colors sound fishy too. The iPod touch is often sold to young children and teenagers, where a variety of pastels makes sense. Apple likes black and white for the "grown up" devices: the iPod Classic was always white or black, the iPad has always been white or black, and the iPhone will probably stay that way too.

NFC is a bit more likely. Passbook hasn't exactly taken off, and NFC could put it on steroids. An upgraded camera is also logical. As smartphones become more customers' primary photography tools, any advancements can enhance their experience.

Grains of salt
Take it for what you will, but we'd file this one under "Interesting But Doubtful." Either way, you can expect to hear many more bold Apple predictions during the next few months. If nothing else, it's great entertainment.

iPhone 5 was Presented to the World!

Surely you remembered that today is the day when Apple will present their latest generation of the iPhone, the much-awaited iPhone 5. As we reported previously the device was set to be presented today and should be on the market around the September 21st. This still isn't 100% official but we should hear the new from Apple soon enough.

Today, on September the 12th, in the "big apple" (NYC) the new iPhone 5 was presented to the world. The new device is 20% lighter and sports a 4 inch screen as all the display-related rumors suggested. Although the 0.5 perhaps don't mean a lot of to many people this is certainly a historical moment, at least for the company, as this is the first time that the iPhone stepped away from the original designs of Steve Jobs.

 Apple also claims that the processor is twice as fast due to their new A6 chip. The device also finally has a 4G-LTE network connection which allows for networking speeds that are ten times as fast a 3G. Among others, the supported networks will include Verizon, Spring and AT&T, which will be the major iPhone 5 carriers.

 A new feature for the iPhone 5 is the improved "iSight camera" which allows beautiful panoramic shots as well as better pictures in low light conditions. We cannot say anything more until some of the official specs and news are released but based on what I've seen on the live-stream of the event you can be sure that there are quite a few interesting new features awaiting the iPhone fans.

 The device is expected to be released on the market for $199 with a two-year contract on September the 21st. This will influence the iOS ecosystem as the iPhone 4S will get a price drop of $100 meaning that it will cost $99 with a two-year contract while the older iPhone 4 will be a free option with a two-year contract. Not a bad deal for those who do not want the latest in technology but still want the branded quality that Apple provides!

iPhone 5 Rumored to have Fingerprint Unlock

This rumor comes from speculation after Apple recently purchased AuthenTec which specializes in fingerprint technology. And while it would be a very nice iPhone 5 feature, it doesn’t seem that likely. The new phone is supposedly already in production. Unless Apple had earlier workings with AuthenTec before the purchase, it is more likely a feature to be found in iPhone 6 (or iPhone 5S).

Next up were the supposedly leaked photos of the new iPhone from a production factory. To date these seem the most likely to be legit. They look like the real deal and also sport the rumored 19-pin connector dock. But their legitimacy can also be brought into question because of the next rumor.

iPhone 5 Will Feature 8-Pin Connector

This was probably the most surprising rumor this week. Tech blogs everywhere have basically confirmed that it would downsize to a 19-pin connector. Now an iPhone accessory manufacturer seems to claim otherwise. Not only do they claim the iPhone 5 will have a microUSB equivalent dock at just 8 pins, but that it would also work as a Magsafe connector. Magsafe is the technology currently used in Macs that utilize magnets to keep the charging cable in place. That could be a very interesting iPhone 5 feature.

iPhone 5 Release Will Be September 12th

There has been speculation of a September release date for the phone, but so far rumors have pointed towards the 21st. Now it seems that an earlier release date has been thrown around at the rumor mill. What may be more likely is that the 12th will act as the day of the press conference. The 21st on the other hand will be when consumers can first get their hands on the new devices.

iPad Mini Rumored Release and Production

The iPad mini has been rumored for a while, but nothing other than its existence has been speculated. Well now thanks to a source from Japanese site Mackotakara, it is being said that the iPad mini will launch alongside the iPhone 5. Should that hold true, it would certainly be a huge launch day for Apple.

The site also claimed the smaller tablet was being produced in Brazil by Foxconn. It even had some specs to report saying that the iPad mini will come in at the same thickness as the iPod Touch and won’t have a retina display in order to help keep the price competitive against devices like the Google Nexus tablet and the Kindle Fire.

Accessory maker DeviceWear had posted pictures of leather cases on their site which suspiciously looked to fit a smaller Apple tablet. The pictures were later taken down (and luckily saved by some sites) only increasing the suspicions of Apple preparing to launch the iPad mini. The picture also shows off the smaller tablet sporting a 19-pin connector.

iPhone 5 Will Cost $800

You have probably seen this rumor trending on Twitter. It isn’t true. If anything it’s just meant for people to take a shot at their social media comedic skills at certain iPhone 5 features they’d expect. If this does hold true I will personally send Apple a bottle of medication, since they’d have to be pretty ill to make a pricing blunder of that caliber.

As you can see, plenty of rumors have surfaced since our last roundup. And you can bet that more will just keep popping up as we grow closer to the release date, regardless of if it actually is September 12.

10 IMPROVEMENTS:-

1. That bigger display
According to most reports surrounding Apple’s iPhone 5, the device will come with a 4-inch display. Apple’s current iPhones have 3.5-inch screens. Although Apple hasn’t confirmed it, the chances of the company delivering a 4-inch display in the iPhone 5 seem awfully high.
2. NFC
From this point on, consumers and enterprise users can expect to see near-field communication make its way to Android-based handsets. They can’t expect the same from Apple’s iPhones. In the iPhone 5, Apple can change that and finally offer near-field communication and all of the benefits that go with it.
3. Same price
Apple has historically kept its latest iPhones at the same price as its predecessors. The company must do the same with the iPhone 5. At $199 with a two-year contract, the iPhone is perfectly priced. And Apple should do everything it can to maintain that price level with carriers.
4. iOS 6, of course
It wouldn’t be the iPhone 5 unless Apple offers iOS 6 in the device. After all, iOS 6 is the latest mobile operating system from the company and should be bundled in its best mobile hardware, right?

5. 4G LTE
With the sheer number of smartphones launching nowadays with 4G LTE networking, it would only make sense for Apple to deliver the same connectivity option. In mobile wireless, 4G LTE is the future. And everyone knows it.
6. A new look and feel
The iPhone design is getting a little old. It made its debut a couple of years ago with the launch of the iPhone 4 and persisted until now through the iPhone 4S. Apple should launch a new design with the iPhone 5 and show that it’s not content to simply maintain status quo and collect its profits each quarter.
7. That smaller Dock connector port
According to several reports, Apple will be launching a smaller Dock connector port in the next iPhone. The port would deliver 19 pins, as compared to the 30-pin variety Apple is using now. That might annoy some accessories owners, but that smaller port should offer more functionality over time. Better yet, it’ll save Apple precious space in its mobile devices. It’s a win-win.
8. A continued desire to deliver mobility
One of the key aspects of Apple’s iPhone success over the years has been its willingness to make its device as mobile as possible. The iPhone is thin, not too long, and fits perfectly in a pocket. As Apple finalizes its latest design, it should be sure to continue to offer the high-quality mobility everyone has come to expect from the firm.
9. Bring on the A6 processor
When Apple announced the new iPad, many hoped that it would unveil the A6 processor. Instead, it delivered the A5X processor in the device. Speculation abounds that the next iPhone will come with the quad-core A6 processor. One can only hope.
10. Wireless charging
Apple has slowly but surely started the process of going entirely wireless with its many products. Rather than hook up the iPhone to a computer to update it, for example, wireless updates are available. However, Apple has yet to cut the cord in one very important place: wireless charging. It’s about time Apple delivers wireless charging to the iPhone ecosystem. And the best way to do that is to deliver it in the iPhone 5.

Destroyed Apple Products Become Work of Art

Running out of creative ideas? This is what you should do:

1. Take an Apple product
2. Destroy it
3. Photograph the wreckage
4. Put it up in an exhibition
5. Profit

That’s what artist Michael Tompert does. He takes expensive Apple’s products and wrecks them with blowtorches, sledgehammers, handsaws and handguns. Then he snaps pictures of them and lo, these large-scale prints are now a colorful work of art.


“It’s an alternate viewpoint,” explained Tompert at a preview of his first gallery show, which opens in San Francisco last Friday. “They’re beautiful inside. They’re beautiful when you open them up.”
His methods of destruction varied by gadget. To destroy an iPhone 3G device he used a Heckler & Koch handgun to blow a hole through it. To obliterate a set of iPod Nanos, he placed the devices on a train track so that a locomotive would run over them. The most difficult product to wreck was the iPad -- "it's practically indestructible," Tompert said. He said the iPad withstood blows from a sledgehammer and other blunt tools. In the end, he used a soldering torch to heat the insides of the iPad until they started to boil and the device exploded.
Ironically, Tompert is a former Apple employee.
