Sony India launched the country's first 4K television in 65 and 55 inches recently in Delhi. Former Miss India Rochelle Rao was also present here.
This launch is an extension of 84 (213.5cm) 4K TV that was introduced by the company last year.
The
4K Bravia screen contains 8 million individual pixels, which is four
times more detail than a full HD TV. The TV's powerful 4K X-Reality
PROTprocessing engine up-scales any standard definition content to 4K
resolution irrespective of its source.
On
the occasion, Kenichiro Hibi, managing director, Sony India, said,
"Over the years, Sony India has established market leadership in the
flat panel televisions category and we aim to further strengthen this
position with the newly launched line-up of 4K BraviaT televisions, in
addition to the other series announced this year.
The
4K TV in 65 (165cm) and 55 (140cm) screen sizes will be available for
4,04,900 and 3,04,900 respectively. This range of TVs will be available
at all Sony centers and major electronic stores across India
He said, "Bravia
is the largest category contributor towards overall sales of Sony India
and contributed 35% towards the company sales in FY12."
"With the launch today, we are targeting a bigger market for 4K TVs by introducing the technology at a very strategic price-point", he added.
This X9004 series also offers a wide range of connectivity options to enhance the user experience.
The 4K Bravia screen contains 8 million individual pixels and from photos, music, apps, everything is mirrored on the TV.
With
the new NFC feature, one can simply touch an Xperia smartphone (NFC
compatible models) with the sleek one-touch remote and see the phone's
screen super-size on BraviaT.
