Samsung Galaxy S IV to manufacture 100 million phones

The Samsung Galaxy S IV is guaranteed to be one of the hottest sellers and after crushing the numbers, analysts have predicted that the next Samsung flagship might cause headaches to Apple.

Peter Misek from Jefferies & Company wrote a note to clients of the analytics firm saying that Samsung plans to build 100 million Galaxy S IV phones. That would require monstrous amounts of resources, which would eat into manufacturing capacity for the upcoming iPhone update.
“The enormous 100 million S4 build plan (we estimate the S3 sold 60M) is leading some suppliers to say that they will reallocate resources away from Apple.”
The last official numbers are from mid-January and state that 40 million Galaxy S III’s were shipped.
On the topic of the next iPhone, Misek had previously written that Apple is already facing manufacturing issues as suppliers struggle to provide enough units of the bigger screen for the new Apple phone. This might even lead to delaying the launch until next year.

After Samsung, Apple attacks Google Apps

Patents between Apple and Samsung, it's a long story. This war is not about to end. The firm at the apple has made a request to the California judge on adding several models and Samsung Apps.

The war between Apple and Samsung is very complex, it is even very difficult to navigate. In this umpteenth chapter, Apple has made a new request to the judge. The California court agreed Friday to add in its complaint several Samsung devices ( Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy S3) and the latest version of the Android OS, Jelly Bean. Apple had already attacked this OS, but the complaints were modified versions by Samsung. Today, the Cupertino company directly attacks in Mountain View. Korean has not remained unmoved in the extension of the list because it has decided to add to his complaint, the iPhone 5. Currently, the war between Apple and Google is not reported, but it could very well come in the coming days or weeks.

Another war Apple / Google?

In this trial, the two companies accused of having copied technologies and designs in violation of the intellectual property . In July, Samsung had lost a lawsuit in the U.S., however, the Korean decided to start a war against Apple. The trial is scheduled for 2014 and could be many surprises in the next two years. The addition of Android in the complaint is a surprise. The Google OS met with some success, a survey FIFG indicated that users were satisfied 95%, this rate is quite important.

Android market represent 75% of sales against 15% for Apple. Finally, Jelly Bean would be used only on 2.7% of terminals 1st November. But in just three years, the Mountain View company has gone from darkness to light with some domination. War could therefore soon take place between the two companies.

The next episode of the war between Apple and Samsung will occur on December 6. This hearing is the result of the first case. Samsung was ordered to pay a billion dollars to Apple, but the Korean did not want to stop there. We must therefore wait until the beginning of December to see the turn of events.

Samsung Galaxy S4: Characteristics and a wireless charging?

The S4 Galaxy should disclose in a few weeks at the Mobile World Congress 2013. The first features the Smartphone would have appeared on the Web. Samsung will also have to provide a system of wireless charging.

Galaxy S4 will be the successor to the Galaxy S3 has returned a success since its release in May. Samsung is going to try to do better by offering a Smartphone to the expectations of consumers. All eyes are turned to the new Korean mobile. SamMobile , which is always very knowledgeable about the products, Samsung has once again struck in discovering possible features of the Galaxy S4. The terminal would have made an appearance on a site benchmarks. Some information has been collected by the site. The smartphone is expected to enter the phone market in the first half of 2013. It would have Exynos processor clocked at 1.8 GHz 5 with 8 cores and 2 GB of RAM.

A Wireless Charging System

Galaxy S4 propose a Super AMOLED 4.99 inch Full HD with a density of 440ppi. Operate the terminal with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Samsung could offer a 13 megapixel sensor capable of performing full HD video in 1080p 30FPS. A 2 megapixel front camera could offer HD video in 720p.

Along with this information, Samsung would have the opportunity to propose a wireless charging system for S4 Galaxy. This is not the same site that reveals the information, but the Korean site DDaily. Customers would get this feature through an option. The terminal may be provided with a cover and a special charging station specific. The website does not give more information about the technology. Samsung would have thought to choose a technique of inductive coupling resonance. You could recharge your smartphone without touch up to 2 meters. This information is rumors since the Korean did not confirm the presence or characteristics of the system load. We must wait the Mobile World Congress to learn a little more about what Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 soon

Samsung, as we know, has a catalog very complete and varied. The manufacturer clearly trying to be present on all fronts and has thus learn through Sam Mobile that it could soon raise the veil on a new range of touch tablets: the Galaxy Tab 3. A range that is apparently composed of three models since it would issue a three Galaxy Tab 7.0, Galaxy Tab 3 of 10.1 and a Galaxy Tab 3 mystery that we do not know much yet. And if you want to know more, know that talking about now!

Certainly, these next few weeks are likely to be very busy with Samsung and this is normal since the South Korean manufacturer should grant us a number of new mobile terminals among which we can mention the S4 Galaxy , the Galaxy Tab 8.0 The Galaxy Pocket Plus and a lot of other nice things. And if we believe this new rumor, then it would also be three new tablets that could land soon: Galaxy Tab 3.

As explained a little earlier, they would be broken down into three models. It would obviously matter a 7-inch slate and a 10.1-inch slate, but Samsung could also grant us a third tablet that also benefit a 10.1 inch screen. Bizarre, obviously. If Samsung has never been afraid to overload the market, the manufacturer did not used to launch two identical terminals in a single line. Would it be a new Nexus 10? Possible, but it will take to get to the bottom.

Finally, we can also add that the new Galaxy Tab 3 should be divided into several models varying according to their storage capacity (16 GB or 32 GB) and their connectivity (3G or not), all for an arrival on the market the first quarter of 2013.

Samsung Windows Mobile Phones New Galaxy Note

BERLIN/SEOUL  Samsung Electronics became the aboriginal handset maker to advertise a smartphone application Microsoft's latest adaptable software, authoritative its surprise, abrupt advertisement aloof canicule afore the awful advancing barrage of Nokia's version.

The abrupt advertisement on Wednesday at a Berlin electronics appearance comes amidst expectations that smartphone makers may about-face more to Windows accessories afterwards a U.S. board absitively abounding of Samsung's Android-based phones abandoned Apple Inc patents.

"It looks like a acceptable phone, and seems like a pre-emptive advertisement advanced of Nokia," said Sid Parakh, an analyst at advance close McAdams Wright Ragen, of the Samsung phone.

"Microsoft or Windows never got their best teams, never got their best designs, aloof because Android was accomplishing so well. With the change in the acknowledged environment, there's a case to be fabricated that Samsung will acceptable about-face some of those assets to augment out or alter their own exposure."

Nokia, the ailing Finnish adaptable firm, already the world's arch ambassador of phones but now disturbing to about-face losses, is due to bare its new Lumia band of smartphones application Windows Buzz 8 in New York on September 5.

Samsung's new buzz alleged ATIV S -- tacked assimilate the end of a continued account appointment in Berlin that focused on added articles -- may drag expectations for the Lumia. Samsung's ATIV S Windows buzz sports a high-end 4.8-inch display, Corning "Gorilla" glass, and an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.9-megapixel front-facing camera, Microsoft acquaint on its official blog on Wednesday.

"Expectations for a 40 megapixel or possibly 20 megapixel camera archetypal are active high. If Nokia does not bare a monster camera handset abutting week, abounding will be disappointed," said Tero Kuittinen, analyst at adaptable analytics close Alekstra.

But "this leaves Nokia affluence of allowance to draw a bright adverse with its accessible announcement."

Samsung's Windows-based smartphone, alien on Wednesday, marks the aboriginal in a "big calendar of new hardware" from the South Korean aggregation based on Microsoft's software, Microsoft controlling Ben Rudolph said in a blog posting.

STEALING A MARCH

Microsoft gave a examination of its Windows Buzz 8 software in June, and promised the aboriginal phones would be on the bazaar by the autumn.

Windows Buzz 8 looks agnate to, and is congenital on the aforementioned amount cipher as Microsoft's accessible Windows 8 operating system, but is not the aforementioned product. Windows 8, which will run on tablets and PCs, is appointed to barrage on October 26.

Samsung said the ATIV buzz would hit food in the October-November aeon but did not accord an exact alpha date.

On Wednesday, the Korean association additionally showed off a bulk of tablets application Windows 8 software and the additional bearing of its accepted Google Android-based Galaxy Note phone-cum-tablet "phablet" in city Berlin.

Samsung has awash some 10 actor of its aboriginal Galaxy Note devices, creating a new artefact class which has abate awning than tablets, but bigger than smartphones.

"I am appealing assured it will alike outsell its predecessor," said JK Shin, Samsung's arch of adaptable business.

Samsung hopes the new accessory will booty the focus abroad from its accident of the cloister case. Apple is now gluttonous accelerated bans on the auction of eight Samsung phones, affective apace to about-face acknowledged achievement into actual business gain.

HTC One X Vs Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung Galaxy S III in Pebble Blue
The Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III was officially launched in the Philippines last night, and the suggested retail price was set at Php32,990 and being available on retail stores by June 9, 2012. This matches the suggested retail price of HTC's current flagship phone, the HTC One X, which is also Php32,990.

HTC One X in Grey.

The street price of a HTC One X is lower and can be found at a price range of Php27,600 to Php29,900 with an official HTC warranty. Once the Samsung Galaxy S III become widely available we also do expect it to sell for a bit lower than its suggested retail price. The Samsung Galaxy S III does have the advantage of being offered by both Globe Telecom and Smart Communications on postpaid plans.

So, the two Titans of the Android world have their flagship phones clashing with its other toe-to-toe on price. Which is the better choice for you?

Both phone are very similar, combining large high resolution 720p (720 x 1280) displays in thin and light designs. The Samsung Galaxy S III has a slight larger 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display of the Pentile Matrix variety which is an improved version of that found in the Galaxy Nexus. The HTC One X has a 4.7-inch IPS2 LCD display. Both are excellent displays, and we don't see buyers choosing one over the other because of the display.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is thinner at 8.6 mm thin, but being just 0.3 mm less than the HTC One X, I doubt you will actually notice the difference. The Samsung Galaxy S III is a bit wider at 70.6 mm, the HTC One X measuring at 69.9 mm, but again the difference is too small to be of significance. The HTC One X is the lighter of the two at 130 grams in weight, while the Samsung Galaxy S III.

On the hardware front Samsung Galaxy S III has a slight faster processor and graphics chips, but both phones are so fast it is not likely that there is a significant difference in real world performance. With a quad core processor on either both phones, you probably cannot find any app which would push either phone to its limits. Both phone use HSDPA 21.1 Mbps radios for 3G connectivity. Both phones have excellent 8 MP camera's, and which produces better pictures will be more a function of the user rather than the hardware.

With the two so evenly matched, what should you consider in selecting one over the other?

Internal Storage. For the same money, the HTC One X comes with more internal storage at 32 GB, of which 26 GB is user available. The Samsung Galaxy S III comes with 16 GB of internal storage. We do not yet know what the user available storage is with the Samsung Galaxy S III, but it would be somewhere between 11 to 13 GB. The Samsung though in part makes up for the lower internal storage with a MicroSD card slot.

Getting a 16GB MicroSD card will cost you a bit less than Php800 these days.

I prefer internal storage to SDCard storage. Accessing it is a tad bit faster. So I would say that if 26 GB is enough, I would give the HTC One X than advantage in this regard. If you need more than 26 GB, with the Samsung Galaxy S III it is a matter of buying a large capacity MicroSD card. With the HTC One X you are out of luck.

Winner: Draw. Depends on the users need. If you only need 26 GB or less the HTC One X. If you need more the Samsung Galaxy S III.

Cloud Storage. Both phones come with two years of Dropbox cloud storage. The HTC One X comes with 25 GB while the Samsung Galaxy S III comes with 50 GB.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy SIII. More is better so the Samsung Galaxy S III wins.

Gaming. Both phones are wickedly fast and have the power to tear trough the latest 3D games on the Android market. But use mature graphics chips as their base so compatibility should not be an issue.

The HTC One X does sport the 12-core Nvidia ULP GeForce graphics chip which has some really amazing capability and developers do build gamed optimized to take advantage of the ULP GeForce's capability.

Most games wont take advantage of ULP GeForce, but a fair number do, and those that do, look a lot better.

Winner: HOX. If you want console quality grapchics, the HTC One X is the way to go.

Battery life. Both phones use modern energy saving technology, and in terms of battery life are pretty much as good as it gets. While both phones have excellent battery life.

Basically, GSM Arena which conducts the test we use for comparison rated the Samsung Galaxy S III's battery life with an endurance of 43 hours, while the HTC One has an endurance rating of 37 hours.

Winner. GSIII. The Galaxy S III will last significantly longer on a charge.

User replaceable battery. The Samsung Galaxy S III's battery can be easily replaced by popping of the batter cover. The HTC One X battery is an internal. Replacing it requires removing the LCD display and the mother board. Only a skilled professional should try it.

Winner: Samsung Galaxy SIII. Despite the good battery life, if you keep the phone more than a year or a year and a half, you will probably want to replace the battery. The Samsung Galaxy S III makes this easier.

Others. The other area where both phones differ is in their installed operating system. While both run Android 4.0, HTC places a Sense 4.0 overlay on top of Android. Samsung puts its TouchWiz 4.0 overlay.

In the past we would have given this category to HTC which really includes some very useful enhancements. But Samsung has built a lot, new features into TouchWiz like Smart Stay and S-Voice.

Ultimately, user interface and enhancements are subjective matters and there is really no way to measure one against the other. Best advice, try both and see which you like best.

This also depends on what you used before. If you have been using HTC Sense for some time, I suspect you will want to stay with Sense. If you have been using Samsung phones in the past and like TouchWiz, you will feel more comfortable with the the Samsung Galaxy S III. It is easier to leave TouchWiz behind than Sense, but I really cannot quantify that.

Conclusion. If you want one postpaid, the Samsung Galaxy S III is the only game in town. If you are buying a phone, than you have some decisions to make.

Overall Samsung Galaxy S III had built a better smartphone. If I owned a HTC One X, the advantages of the Samsung Galaxy S III would not be enough for me to want to upgrade. For the typical user, this would be the better choice. If you spend a lot of time viewing multi-media, will last twice as long on the battery as compared to the HTC One X.

HTC on the other hand has built an excellent smartphone in its own regard, which is also the best Android hand held gaming platform in the market today. If you having a bit of gaming in your blood, it is really hard to ignore the Nvidia ULP GeForce graphics.

So which do we recommend, pick your own poison. I do not think you will regret either choice. It is also unlikely that you will feel device envy with anything else coming out in the market, well not for another year when HTC and Samsung duke it out for round four.

Samsung Galaxy S III official – 4.8 inch HD display, quad-core Exynos CPU in tow

While it wasn’t the biggest secret around, Samsung took the stage and officially announced the next Galaxy handset, the Galaxy S III. The handset is just as powerful as it is sleek and we’re impatiently awaiting its arrival in the states, which shouldn’t be that long.

Rocking the rumored 4.8 inch 720p HD display, the Galaxy S III sports one of the largest displays that we’ve seen on a phone before, with the exception of the Galaxy Note, of course. As you’d expect, the display itself is gorgeous but also the same display tech that’s found on the Galaxy Nexus – Super AMOLED HD. Inside the handset is the new quad-core Exynos 4 processor, which is one of these fastest CPU’s we’ve come across. The previous Exynos CPU found in the Galaxy S II put most other processors to shame and it looks like Samsung is doing the same thing, yet again.

That said, processors like the Tegra 3 and Snapdragon S4 aren’t as far behind as last time, and we wouldn’t be surprised if we found the US variants of the Galaxy S III rocking Qualcomm’s chip to support LTE. Other specs of the Galaxy S III include 1GB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera, 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera, 16/32GB versions, with 64GB coming soon, along with a micro SD card slot that supports up to another 64GB of storage.
Rounding out the specs, you’ll find a 2,100 mAh battery inside of a 8.6mm shell. You will find a dedicated home button on the device but we can imagine that it might go missing by the time it hits US markets.
As far as US availability is concerned, here’s all we have:
Samsung Mobile is planning a U.S. version of Galaxy S III, optimized for the fastest LTE and HSPA+ networks in the U.S., which will be available in the summer of 2012. Exact timing and retail channel availability is not being announced at this time. We believe the Galaxy S III is the most anticipated product in the 20-year history of Samsung Mobile; therefore, we will continue to share information as it becomes available.
The Galaxy S III is a welcomed evolution of the uber-popular handset family and it will undoubtedly sell much better than previous versions.
Stay tuned for more Galaxy S III news!

Designed for humans and inspired by nature, the GALAXY S III is a smartphone that recognizes your voice, understands your intention, and lets you share a moment instantly and easily.
This sleek and innovative smartphone has the enhanced intelligence to make everyday life easier. With Samsung GALAXY S III, you can view the content like never before on the device’s 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display. An 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front camera offer users a variety of intelligent camera features and face recognition related options that ensure all moments are captured easily and instantly. Samsung GALAXY S III is powered by Android™ 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, with greatly enhanced usability and practicality to make life easier. Packed with intuitive technology, the GALAXY S III delivers a uniquely personalized mobile experience that refuses to be compromised.
“With the GALAXY S III, Samsung has maximized the consumer benefits by integrating superior hardware with enhanced smartphone usability,” said JK Shin, President and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung. “Designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the GALAXY S III has been created with our human needs and capabilities in mind. What makes me most proud is that it enables one of the most seamless, natural and human-centric mobile experiences, opening up a new horizon that allows you to live a life extraordinary.”
Introducing Natural Interaction
The GALAXY S III enhances the interaction experience between the device and user. Smart enough to detect your face, voice and motions, the GALAXY S III adapts to the individual user to provide a more convenient and natural experience. With the innovative ‘Smart stay’ feature, the GALAXY S III recognizes how you are using your phone – reading an e-book or browsing the web for instance – by having the front camera identify your eyes; the phone maintains a bright display for continued viewing pleasure.
The GALAXY S III features ‘S Voice,’ the advanced natural language user interface, to listen and respond to your words. In addition to allowing information search and basic device-user communication, S Voice presents powerful functions in regards to device control and commands. When your phone alarm goes off but you need a little extra rest, just tell the GALAXY S III “snooze.” You can also use S Voice to play your favorite songs, turn the volume up or down, send text messages and emails, organize your schedules, or automatically launch the camera and capture a photo.
In addition to recognizing your face and voice, the GALAXY S III understands your motions to offer maximized usability. If you are messaging someone but decide to call them instead, simply lift your phone to your ear and ‘Direct call’ will dial their number. With ‘Smart alert,’ the GALAXY S III will also save you from trouble by catching any missed messages or calls; your phone will vibrate to notify missed statuses when picked up after being idle.
Easy and Instant Sharing
The Samsung GALAXY S III is more than a personal device that can be enjoyed by one user – it wants you to share and experience smartphone benefits with family and friends, regardless of where you are. With the new ‘S Beam,’ the GALAXY S III expands upon Android™ Beam™, allowing a 1GB movie file to be shared within three minutes and a 10MB music file within two seconds by simply touching another GALAXY S III phone, even without a Wi-Fi or cellular signal. The ‘Buddy photo share’ function also allows photos to be easily and simultaneously shared with all your friends pictured in an image directly from the camera or the photo gallery.
With ‘AllShare Cast’, users can wirelessly connect their GALAXY S III to their television to immediately transfer smartphone content onto a larger display. ‘AllShare Play’ can be also used to instantly share any forms of files between GALAXY S III and your tablet, PC, and televisions regardless of the distance between the devices. Under AllShare Play is also the ‘Group Cast’ feature that allows you to share your screen among multiple friends on the same Wi-Fi network; you can make comments and draw changes at the same time with your co-workers, witnessing real-time sharing on your individual device.
Human-centric Design with Uncompromised Performance
The GALAXY S III not only presents features with enhanced usability, but also provides an ergonomic and comfortable experience through its human-centric design. Its comfortable grip, gentle curves, and organic form deliver a rich human-centric feel and design. Inspired by nature, its design concept is the flow and movement of nature. The elements of wind, water and light are all evoked in the physical construct of the GALAXY S III. In its essence, the minimal organic design identity is reflected in the smooth and non-linear lines of the device. Available in Pebble Blue and Marble White at launch, Samsung will introduce a variety of additional color options.
With a 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display, the GALAXY S III offers a large and vivid viewing experience. Samsung Mobile’s heritage Super AMOLED display even enhances to HD and 16:9 wider viewing angles. To ensure faster content sharing and connectivity, the GALAXY S III offers Wi-Fi Channel Bonding which doubles the Wi-Fi bandwidth.
The GALAXY S III also sports a range of additional features that boost performance and the overall user experience in entirely new ways. It introduces ‘Pop up play,’ a feature that allows you to play a video anywhere on your screen while simultaneously running other tasks, eliminating the need to close and restart videos when checking new emails or surfing the Web. Its 8MP camera features a zero-lag shutter speed that lets you capture moving objects easily without delay – the image you see is the picture you take. With the ‘Burst shot’ function that instantly captures twenty continuous shots, and the ‘Best photo’ feature that selects the best of eight photographs for you, the GALAXY S III ensures users a more enhanced and memorable camera experience. HD video can be recorded even with the 1.9MP front-facing camera, which you can use to capture a video of yourself. Improved backside illumination further helps to eliminate blur in photos that result from shaking, even under low lights.
Mobile payment is also accessible with the device through advanced Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The gaming experience is enhanced through ‘Game Hub,’ providing access to numerous social games, while Video Hub brings users high quality TV and movies. Furthermore, Samsung Music Hub will offer a personal music streaming service. Game Hub, Video Hub and Music Hub will be introduced in select countries initially and soon rolled out to global markets.
The Samsung GALAXY S III will be available from the end of May in Europe before rolling out to other markets globally.

Samsung Galaxy S3 TV First Commercial

During the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy S III, a new TV was shown off and has now made its way to YouTube. Samsung is really playing up the human element with this new ad campaign, so much that you almost don’t see the phone itself enough in the new ad.
The Galaxy S III is full of surprises and we’re glad to see that Samsung didn’t let us down. That said, the decision to go with capacitive buttons below the display isn’t our personal favorite but it does allow the user to take advantage of the entire display, which we can’t really complain about. Throw in the new quad-core Exynos processor, sensors galore, and a spruced-up version of TouchWiz running on top of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and Samsung has achieved exactly what it set out to do, which was make a worthy successor to the Galaxy S II that’s more than worth the upgrade.
We still have to wait before we can get any solid dates for the US variants of the handset and it will be interesting to see if this ad campaign is retained.
What do you think about the ad below? Effective or a bit sappy?

I don't understand? Samsung Galaxy S3 is better then a girlfriend or a child? Or hold me in your arms and let's watch on the phone? :) Can you explain me? :D

Samsung Galaxy 3 Phone official teaser is out

As expected, Samsung just launched their Next Galaxy teaser video. At the event on May 3 in London, Samsung is expected to unveil its highly anticipated Galaxy S II successor and, reportedly, a quad-core tablet. Enough with the chit-chat, here's the video itself.

We are yet to see if Samsung will succeed in converting more users to the Galaxy cause, but it's certain that the event will be the focus of everyone's attention. We are also interested to see if a certain Samsung competitor, which is currently in fierce legal battle with the Koreans, will provide some kind of response to the last part of the teaser video.

Samsung Galaxy 3 Photo 'dummy box' prototype surfaces

Samsung GT-I9300 'dummy box' prototype surfaces. We have another picture of what is likely to be the next Galaxy phone. As usual, the phone is camouflaged by being placed within a case but we still get a glimpse of some of the important bits.

Samsung GT-I9300 'dummy box' prototype surfaces
For starters, we see the arrangement of the buttons at the bottom of the display. For the first time, we are also seeing a Menu button there, along with the Back, Home and multitasking button. Samsung has changed the order of the keys again and placed it on the left unlike the Galaxy Nexus, which places it on the right. Also, unlike the Galaxy Nexus, the Menu button pushes the other three buttons on the right, so they are no longer in the center.

What's curious, though, is what we see below the display. There is a physical Home button, not unlike the ones we have seen on previous versions of the Galaxy smartphones. However, we did not see this when we first spotted this prototype device. If the phone is going to have on-screen controls then it makes no sense to have a physical Home button. Perhaps this is something that will eventually disappear by the time the phone reaches the production stage.

Another thing to note is the shape of the device. If you look closely, placed within the case, the corners of the base seem to be highly curved. If you remember the media invite image for the Mobile Unpacked 2012 image, you see two curved droplets of white and blue metallic substance.

If we put on our soothsayer hats for a minute, we can see the Galaxy S III being available in white and blue colored versions, with the blue model having a metallic finish, and both having highly curved corners. The curves will help the device fit your palm perfectly, which also goes with Samsung's tagline that says "For technology to be truly smart, shouldn't it fit into your life naturally?" with additional references to Galaxy fitting in your hands in the teaser video.

Anyway, we won't have to wait too long to find out how it really looks like, with the Samsung event being just a week away from today.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 is now available

Samsung Galaxy S Advance is now availableSamsung I9070 Galaxy S Advance is finally available. The smartphone was announced back in January and it was scheduled for April release. Samsung managed to keep its promise – the phone is now in stock at various retailers across Europe.

Samsung Galaxy S3 photo leaks

It's time for today's "photo of the Samsung Galaxy S3" leak - these seem to occur more and more often as we come closer to May 3, when Samsung's Unpacked event will finally settle things one and for all.

The leaked photo in question (the one on the left) shows a device with a hardware home button with two capacitive keys on its sides (menu and back). You can see the volume rocker on the left and the power/lock key on the right - basically, the standard Samsung arrangement.

Note: the middle and right photos come from previous leaks.

The screen is off, so there's no way to tell if the device uses the on-screen buttons that we've seen in previous leaks. But it does look an awful lot like the sketch in the alleged leaked manual. And the bezel is very thin - as it would need to be with the rumored 4.6-4.8" screen.

Samsung Q1 2012 results are out, takes top spot from Nokia

Samsung announced its financial results for the first quarter of this year and the South Korean company is cheering. Analysts like Strategy Analytics say that it is now king of the mobile phone hill - ending Nokia's 14-year reign.

Samsung shipped 93.5 million phones in the three month period, while the former champ Nokia managed just 82.7 million. Of the shipped Samsung phones, 44.5 million were smartphones, which beats Apple's achievement of 35.1 million smartphones. This puts Samsung on top both in terms of both total phones shipped and in the number of smartphones.

Samsung Q1 2012 results are out, takes top spot from Nokia
Consolidated revenue went up 22% year on year to $39.9 billion, while consolidated net profit reached $4.4 billion.

The chip manufacturing business is down, but demand for DRAM chips and application processors (especially the cool new 32nm ones) is expected to bounce back up in Q2.

The Samsung profit drivers were really IT & Mobile communications business and the display business.

The mobile business is seeing strong demand for smart devices of the Galaxy line (like the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note), with revenue from the mobile division increasing 86% year-on-year.

IT was again the strong demand for high-end TVs (LED and 3D) along with tablet and OLED panels that helped push operating profit of Samsung's Consumer Electronics business up a whopping 550% in the quarter (year-on-year) to $9.4 billion.

You can find out more details on Samsung's performance in Q1 from its press release or this earnings release PDF.

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 service manual revealed

Assuming we are to believe everything we heard so far about the Galaxy S3, and especially the leak in the KIES system, which is as good as official, the model name for Samsung's next flagship will be the I9300.

So today there is this leak, which shows the Samsung GT-I9300 service manual, so it should be nothing else but the S3, right?

Well, yes, assuming the manual is legit in the first place. But since we only got here after so much assuming, we'll let you decide whether that sketch of a phone is the final design.

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 service manual revealed
Regarding the specs, we are not that sure. Nothing there seems that much out of the ordinary, but the screen so far has only been rumored as a 4.6-incher and at 4.8 inches it's would be closer to the Note than to the regular phone lineup. For all we know, the whole leak could be bogus so take it with a pinch of salt. Anyway, we'll know the real specs come next week.
